Glazed Apricot Gelato from The Cure Company

Glazed Apricot Gelato from The Cure Company via New Generation on 8/14/19. THC tested out to 21.23%. Purchased for $50 plus sales tax. I swooped in to New Generation in order to get a great deal, but while I was there, I figured I’d look for something new. The Cure Company had been on my radar for a bit and my only experience so far was a less than stellar pre-roll. I spotted this Glazed Apricot Gelato which was touted as an exclusive as it was grown with Snoop’s Premium Nutrients. The look of the nugs are less than stellar, they have a sort of ratty look to them even though they’re pretty dense, I’m not sure if this is because of the trim but something about them just didn’t hit my eyes properly. That’s probably my main criticism as the rest of the experience was very positive from there.

The nose out of the jar is extremely unique, it’s a mix of spice, mint and hints of sweetness. On breaking the nug, it really amps up the mint and pine aspects, and on the finger grind you get a beautiful mix of pine, mint and spice and hints of sweetness. The inhale is smooth and I catch a muted sweetness. On the exhale I feel I catch a very faint cinnamon taste, but it’s so faint I’m not really sure if I’m imagining it or not. The headchange comes on quick and has a speedy paranoid edge to it. On Weedmaps it says this is a “heavy-hitting indica” but in my experience it’s more of a sativa leaning hybrid. Maybe it’s just this batch but it’s way too racy for my tastes to label it anything Indica and I’ve been leaning on this as my morning smoke without being any worse for wear. It will leave you a little spacey at times but for the most part you can focus on what you need to do and your only distraction may be a paranoid thought like “did I pay that bill?” or “did I lock the door?”. While I’m not a fan of the way it looks, the unique smell and taste, and its surprisingly zippy nature grew on me. While I’m not sure I’d pick it up again at $50, it’s definitely a unique experience, and one you shouldn’t shy away from if you find it a price you feel good with paying.
